REPORTING DEADLINES
The organization will provide to the following reports:
- Monthly Status Update due the 1st Friday of every month
- Final Summary and Expenditures due December 15.
Failure to submit required reports shall disqualify the recipient for future grants.
Final Summary and Expenditures report is due no later than December 15.
All supportive documentation should be included as follows:
- Expense receipts or purchase orders.
- Before and after photos.
- Copies of all related newspaper articles.
- All letters of commendation and other related documents.
Failure to adhere to these requirements or to fulfill the commitments outlined in your grant proposal may result in PalmettoPride requesting the return of granted funds. Additionally, failure to submit required reports will disqualify your organization from consideration for future grant opportunities.
INSTRUCTIONS

- Budgeted: Please list the budgeted amount allocated for this item.
- Actual: Please list the actual amount spent for this item.

Grant Reports and Requirements
In compliance with this grant, each grantee agrees to:
- Initiate and complete all work outlined in the project description within the applicable time frame.
- Tag PalmettoPride in all social media posts and media advertising associated with the grant project.
- The applicant must participate in the litter enforcement related Zero Tolerance for Litter Campaign (ZT) held in June.
- The organization will submit a monthly ticketing report online by the 5th day of the month (Oct – Jul).
- The organization will provide PalmettoPride with a final summary and expenditures report by July 31.
If the applicant fails to comply with these guidelines or fulfill the proposed grant obligations, the applicant will be required to reimburse PalmettoPride for grant expenditures, up to the total grant awarded and shall be ineligible for future grants until such a time when the organization has fulfilled all obligations.
Purpose of Grant
The Keep South Carolina Beautiful Affiliate Grant provides up to $15,000 to Keep America Beautiful affiliates in South Carolina for the purpose of creating and maintaining successful litter reduction and beautification programs. This grant will only be awarded to groups who have successfully completed the Keep America Beautiful affiliate certification process.
Eligible Applicants
Certified Keep America Beautiful (KAB) affiliate groups in good standing are eligible to apply for these funds.
Application Submission Process
PalmettoPride reserves the right to reject all proposals and not award any grant funds under this solicitation. Failure to follow the directions outlined in the application guidelines will result in the application not being considered for funding.
Grant Period
The Keep South Carolina Beautiful Support Grants are awarded for one year (December 1 – November 30).
The grant cycle timeline is as follows:
- September 1 Grant Application Opened
- November 1 Grant Application Closed
- December 1 Award Announcement
- January 1 – February 28 Award Check Distribution
- April 15 SC Sweep Cleanup Report Due
- November 30 Final Summary and Expenditures Report Due
Use of Grant Funds
The total maximum funding allowed is $15,000.
Eligible grant expenses: (may include any combination of the following)
- Administrative Overhead: Costs related to copier and printer usage, postage, fuel and mileage reimbursement, website hosting services, and other administrative expenses. (Max: 10% of total budget request)
- Beautification: Expenses for plants, flowers, shrubs, and similar beautification items. (Max: 10% of total budget request)
- Program: Costs associated with programs and projects related to litter prevention.
- Media: Social media, radio, newspaper or television advertisements. (Max: 10% of total budget request)
- Promotional Items/Handouts: Expenses for shirts, pencils, stickers, bags, calendars, and other outreach materials. (Max: 10% of total budget request)
- Salary/Stipends: Compensation for interns, laborers, and associated personnel costs. (Max: $2,000)
- Travel/Conferences: Expenses related to litter-focused conferences and travel (i.e. KAB/KSCB conference).
Ineligible grant expenses: (include, but not limited to the following)
- Insurance policies
- Non-KSCB/KAB related membership fees
- Vehicles

In-Kind Donations
PalmettoPride offers the following supplies at no cost to you.
- Litter Cleanup Supplies (gloves, vests, grabbers)
- Trash Bags (PalmettoPride green bags)
- Cigarette Prevention Program Bins/Receptacles
- Monofilament Bins
- Signs
- Tarps
Request Early: Submit requests at least three weeks in advance, especially during the spring.
Contact: We will let you know when your supplies are ready for pickup.
Grant Reports and Requirements
In compliance with this grant, each affiliate agrees to:
- Initiate and complete all work outlined in the project description within the applicable time frame.
- Tag PalmettoPride in all social media posts and media advertising associated with the grant project.
- The affiliate will register, promote, or assist a local group cleanup event during the SC Sweep and report cleanup results online by April 15.
- The affiliate will provide PalmettoPride with a final summary and expenditures report by November 30.
If the applicant fails to comply with these guidelines or fulfill the proposed grant obligations, the applicant will be required to reimburse PalmettoPride for grant expenditures, up to the total grant awarded and shall be ineligible for future grants until such a time when the organization has fulfilled all obligations.
