The Tree Grant is a non-monetary award that donates trees to be used in beautification projects throughout the state of South Carolina. Recipients of this grant must plant the donated trees on public spaces (i.e. town/neighborhood entryways, parks, schools, churches, etc.) that are accessible to all citizens.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:
  Litter control organizations, beautification groups, government organizations, neighborhood associations and nonprofit organizations in South Carolina are eligible to apply for these trees.
 

Award recipients will be required to pick up the awarded trees from the SC Dept. of Correctional Horticulture Facility, located at 4444 Broad River Road, Columbia on October 27, 2023.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:
 

  1. Trees must be planted on public property accessible to all citizens. 
  2. Must submit a landscaping plan and/or photos of intended project area.
  3. All projects planned in SCDOT right of ways must be approved by SCDOT and follow native planting guides for long-term results.
  4. Must adhere to all terms of the Tree Grant Maintenance Agreement.
  5.  The PalmettoPride logo must appear on all printed and promotional items associated with the grant project (e.g. tee shirts, signs, invitations, promo items, etc.). PalmettoPride must have final approval on all printed materials prior to publication. To get a copy of the logo, contact Sherryl Jenkins at (877) 725-7733 or via email at sjenkins@palmettopride.org. 
  6. Must perform at least one cleanup during the Great American Cleanup (March - May) and report cleanup results online by August 1
  7. Must submit a final summary report by September 30.

  2. Landscaping plan and/or photos of intended project area
